II & III (MSCs & MSDs) students to the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Hyderabad. The visit aimed to provide practical exposure to agricultural research, sustainable farming practices, and modern technologies in crop improvement. Students attended an orientation session on ICRISAT’s mission and projects, explored experimental farms with crops like sorghum, millet, chickpea, pigeon pea, and groundnut, and gained laboratory exposure to plant breeding, molecular biology, and soil science. They interacted with scientists on genetic diversity, climate-smart agriculture, and resource management, while demonstrations showcased water management, soil fertility, and digital agriculture tools. Key learnings included the importance of crop improvement for food security, the role of biotechnology and genomics in resilience, sustainable practices such as integrated pest management, and the use of modern tools like GIS and remote sensing. The visit was led by Ms. Sony Pasala (Assistant Professor in Management) and accompanied by faculty members Mrs. Krishna Joshi (HOD, Allied Science), Mrs. Sapna (Lecturer in Commerce), and Mrs. Beaulah (Lecturer in Commerce). Students departed the college at 9:30 AM and reached Masqati by 10:30 AM, where they spent an hour exploring the company’s operations.
