Distribution of Old Clothes and Books to Orphanage

08 Nov, 2024

Location: Mathru Abhaya Foundation

On November 8, 2024, the Social Club of Don Bosco Degree College took another significant step in its mission to serve the underprivileged by organizing a heartfelt outreach program at the Mathru Abhaya Foundation, an orphanage located in Uppal, Hyderabad.

In the weeks leading up to the visit, a donation drive was launched across the college campus. With great enthusiasm, students and staff came forward to donate clothes, books, and educational materials for children in need. The response was overwhelming, once again demonstrating the compassionate spirit that thrives within the Don Bosco community.

Representing the college, K. Dinesh (Ht.No-108022405022) and G.Stalin (Ht.No108022405019) from the V semester personally visited the orphanage to hand over the donations. The experience was both humbling and inspiring, as the team interacted with the children and witnessed firsthand the joy a simple act of kindness could bring.

The distribution was facilitated by Mr. Ramesh, the dedicated incharge of Mathru Abhaya Foundation, who ensured that the items were sorted and allocated according to the children’s needs. His words of gratitude echoed the importance of such student-led social initiatives and their lasting impact

“For these children, a donated book is not just paper and ink—it’s a window to a new world.

And a warm sweater isn’t just clothing—it’s comfort, dignity, and love.”
