Blood Donation Camp

13 Feb, 2025

Location: Library Hall, Don Bosco Degree College.

On February 13, 2025, the Library Hall of Don Bosco Degree College transformed into a space of silent heroism and compassion as the Social Club hosted a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with Rotary Challa Blood Canter, Zoi Hospital, located at Raj Bhavan Road, Somajiguda, Hyderabad.

Driven by the mission to give back to the community in a lifesaving way, the camp was organized under the leadership of President Kamta Dinesh, B.com Final Year, with unwavering support from the club incharges Mr. Ravi and Mrs. Renuka. The initiative received enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and even the Principal, Thomas Aquinas, who personally led by example by donating blood.

The turnout was heartening — a large number of volunteers stepped forward, sleeves rolled up, ready to give the gift of life. From the science and humanities streams to teaching and non-teaching staff, the spirit of service was alive in every corner of the hall. The team from Rotary Challa Blood centre professionally handled the medical logistics, ensuring a smooth and safe donation process.

The donors were acknowledged with appreciation certificates, and light refreshments were provided post-donation. The sense of unity, pride, and humanity filled the air — as students learned that making a difference doesn’t always require wealth or fame, sometimes all it takes is a willing heart and a drop of blood.

This event not only helped stock vital blood supplies for emergency care but also promoted the culture of voluntary blood donation among youth. It stands out as a signature event of the year, blending service, awareness, and student activism.

“A single pint of blood can save up to three lives — and on this day, the Don Bosco community

came together to save many."
