Cyber security Awareness session

Don Bosco Degree College, Moti Nagar, hosted a Cyber Crime Awareness Campaign on February 3organized by Borabanda Police Station to strengthen digital safety among undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The program was led by Mr. Surendar, Station House Officer (SHO), who shared insights into the cybercrime landscape in Hyderabad. Through impactful videos and real-world case studies, students learned about threats such as phishing, identity theft, and financial fraud. They were also encouraged to install the Crime Simbah App for quick reporting and access to safety resources, with several volunteering to join the police as Cyber Volunteers.

A dedicated session by Lady Police Officer Saritha focused on women’s online safety, addressing issues like cyberstalking and misuse of personal photographs, while highlighting legal protections under IT laws.

The campaign concluded with an interactive Q&A, leaving students better equipped to recognize online risks and fostering a “Cyber-Smart” culture that reflects the college’s commitment to social responsibility and student welfare.

Literary Association club day 2025

Don Bosco Degree College hosted its Literary Association club day on 11 October 2025 in the Assembly Hall, with the aim of promoting literary awareness, enhancing language skills, and encouraging creative expression among students.

The event began with a Prayer Song and an introduction to the Literary Association, followed by a video presentation on Sarojini Naidu, the ‘Nightingale of India’, which inspired students with her literary brilliance and patriotic spirit.

Students showcased their talents through a lively JAM (Just A Minute) session, Hindi and Telugu poem recitations, and a soulful song on the theme “Change”. The Sanskrit students’ video presentation on “11 Rules for a Student to Follow in Life” offered valuable moral lessons.

A highlight of the program was the Book Talk by Ms. Billa Tulasi, a budding author, who shared insights from her book “As the Gravity of Dependence”, motivating students to explore creative writing. The Language Quiz added excitement, testing literary knowledge and rewarding winners during the Prize Distribution Ceremony.

The program was enriched by the address of Father Principal, whose inspiring words encouraged students to strive for excellence. The event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving the audience motivated and inspired.

Pongal Celebrations

Don Bosco Degree College celebrated the traditional harvest festival of Pongal on 10 January 2026 with joy and enthusiasm on campus. The Cultural Club organized vibrant activities that highlighted Indian heritage and fostered community spirit among students.

The day featured a colorful Rangoli Competition, where students used bright colors and creative designs to depict themes of harvest, festivity, and unity. Rangoli, symbolizing prosperity and happiness, provided a platform for students to showcase their artistic talents and teamwork.

Adding to the festive cheer, a lively Kite Flying Competition was held, representing freedom, joy, and togetherness. Students enjoyed the outdoor activity, which encouraged healthy competition, teamwork, and cultural bonding.

Social Club Day 2026

 Don Bosco Degree College, Hyderabad, organized Social Club Day 2026 on 21st February 2026 at 12:00 PM in the College Assembly Hall, under the theme “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” The programme, conducted by the Social Club, aimed at promoting social responsibility, community engagement, and service-oriented values among students in line with NAAC quality parameters. The event was graced by Mr. Reinhard Heiserer (President, Jugend Eine Welt, Austria) as Chief Guest, Mr. Harald Seebacher (Senior Expert – JEW) as Guest of Honour, and Fr. Noel SDB (Don Bosco Life, Hyderabad) with their presence adding international perspective to social development. The programme featured a prayer song, welcome address, honoring of dignitaries, presentations on NAAC and Social Club activities, a “Shayari” performance, video on social services, cultural dance, and distribution of blood donation and appreciation certificates. The event motivated students to participate in outreach programmes, strengthened institutional-community linkage, and enhanced awareness of social responsibility. Overall, Social Club Day 2026 stood as a meaningful celebration of service, recognition, and value-based education, reinforcing the college’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible citizens.
