Flood Relief Fund

01 Sep, 2024

In September 2024, the city of Vijayawada was severely affected by devastating floods that displaced hundreds of families and caused widespread destruction. Amidst the crisis, the Social Club of Don Bosco Degree College rose to the occasion with a heartfelt initiative to support the victims and express solidarity with the affected communities.

Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the club launched a Flood Relief Donation Drive across the college campus. Under the guidance of club incharges Mr. Ravi and Mrs. Renuka, and with active leadership from President Kamta Dinesh and Secretary Saifullah Khan, the club mobilized students, staff, and faculty in a spirit of unity and compassion.

Through collective effort, a generous sum of ₹5,500/- was raised in a short span of time. Every contribution — big or small — reflected the selfless spirit of the Don Bosco community. The entire amount was transferred to Navjeevan Bala Bhavan Society, ensuring that the aid reached those who needed it the most.

This initiative was more than just a monetary contribution; it was a testament to the college’s core values of empathy, civic responsibility, and community engagement. The program not only provided immediate support to flood victims but also served as a powerful lesson for students on the impact of collective action.
